Rhythms of Grace

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

Have the routines of daily life been holding you captive? Has your mind set of routine kept you from walking in obedience? Routines are great and much needed for most of us. There is a sense of stability that comes when our lives are ruled by routine. Yet so often we let that routine overflow into our relationship with the Holy Spirit. This often leads to us disobeying His voice simply because it doesn't make sense or fit into our personal routine. What would happen if you woke up one Sunday morning and the Holy Spirit laid it on your heart to go to a different church that morning? Right away most of us could probably think of a long list of why that doesn't make sense. Most of us would probably try to talk the Holy Spirit out of it giving Him our long lists of why we shouldn't. We so often forget that He is the one that sees the big picture. We never think about the fact that maybe there is someone at that church that the Lord wants to use you to speak through. We only focus on the sacrifice it takes to get out of our daily routine, There are so many different scenarios that we could go through. Yet, they all lead back to us laying down our routines and expectations and joining with the Holy Spirit on His plan and purpose for our lives. Our relationship with Him should flow as rhythms of grace. It's not a routine, but a relationship that has a different rhythm every day. The rhythm of grace is grounded on God's constant steadfastness, but releases us to move where He moves. We should not be so caught up in our lives that we forget that He is the one that leads and guides. He is the one that has given us the opportunity to join Him on this adventure. If you have been too busy to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit or if you've simply blocked Him out because it doesn't fit into your routine it's time to regroup. Ask the Lord what His purpose is for you this week and then join Him in the rhythms of grace as you go where He goes. May your heart experience freedom as you listen to the voice of the Lord this week. May lives be forever changed by your obedience.
