So often we complain when we don't understand God's process. We try to rush it. We try to get around it. We try to figure out a different way. The process is often painful and uncomfortable. Yet, I am learning how important the process actually is. As most of you know we have now technically been homeless for the last month. If you have no idea why or need a refresher on what we're up to this season click here. While we have been in this situation before and while we have been having a lot of great family time this part of the process is way outside my comfort zone. I like routine. I like structure. I like when everything is in it's place. I like having my own space. I like calm. The last four weeks have been completely out of my comfort zone. Most of everything we own is in our car and yet I have no idea where anything is. I now realize we kept way too much. Packing and unpacking and then packing and unpacking every couple days going from place to place. Spending hours upon hours in the car. It's not something that I look forward to, but it's part of the process and I'm learning the process is important. The process has stripped me of everything over the last couple months - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It has caused me to choose peace over anxiety and joy over chaos. It has caused me to choose love. It has caused me to rest. It has caused me to trust the Lord and seek His face. The process has caused many stops along the way. It has caused us to meet new people, wait on the Lord for His provision, and for us to dream big impossible dreams. No matter what process you're walking through right now know that there is purpose in the process. Never forget that the pruning is necessary and important for you to be able to bear new fruit. So where in the world are we, you ask? We left Pennsylvania about two weeks ago and started the drive across the country. We stayed in Kentucky, Illinois, and then Iowa. We got to see some of you, help Mission Mobility load and ship a container of wheelchairs to Guatemala, and we met many new friends along the way. It was a blessing to see everyone and helped break the trip up. We arrived in Colorado a couple days ago where we will stay until we head to Guatemala on January 11th. We found a house to rent in Poptún, Guatemala where we will live until the beginning of April. While we are there we will be working on our Spanish, continuing to build relationships, starting construction on the Rescue Center building, and walking by faith on some other things the Lord has been doing. We're excited for this next adventure. We see now more than ever that the process we've been walking through the last year had purpose. Each step no matter how painful was important. God is faithful. He continues to amaze us every day as He reveals everything He's been doing behind the scenes. I read a quote earlier this week that said, "You cannot sit in the arms of the Father and be restless." What an amazing reminder of the Father's heart. Please continue to pray for us over the next several weeks as we finish up the office work for 2017 and prepare to live overseas for the next three months. 2018 is going to be full of new beginnings! We cannot wait to see what the new year brings. Thank you for walking with us on this journey. Your love, prayers, and support has been such a blessing.
