Holy, Holy, Holy

And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" Isaiah 6:3

It's easy to think about God being our friend, loving, and gracious when everything is going our way. It's easy to think about God being our provider, our comforter, and our Savior when life is good. But, what about when you feel more confusion than peace? What do you stand on when life feels like you have more fear than faith? When life hurts who do you call on? Through the good and the bad I think we forget that God is holy. We forget that He is not moved by our circumstances. When our world feels like it's crashing down around us we forget that God is still on His throne. We forget that He still reigns, that He's still in control, that He's still faithful. We forget that He's still holy. So often we think of God's holiness as a bad thing. We look at it solely as being separated from God. Which is true. God cannot be a part of our sin, because He is holy. That is why we need Jesus! But, God's holiness is so much more than separation. It's because of God's holiness that we have the ability to have peace in confusing situations and faith when the world says we should fear. It's because of God's holiness that we praise Him. Have you thought about God's holiness lately? Have you given Him the honor and praise He deserves? No matter what you are going through this week remind yourself that God never falls off His throne. Remind yourself that we serve a holy God and that it's because He reigns that we have victory in every situation. It's God's holiness that brings us to our knees fully surrendered knowing that there is no one like Him. He is Yahweh. How would our walk with the Father look if we viewed Him as holy? Would we think and act differently? Would we sin less? Would our faith be stronger? God has so many attributes, but the one that causes His children to praise Him is His holiness. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty. We pray that you would have a deeper revelation of God's holiness as you rest in Him this week.
