Thank you for the silence.
The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
Lamentations 3:25
So many people have been going through a time of waiting. Waiting for a breakthrough. Waiting for a miracle. Waiting for restoration. Waiting for addiction to be broken. Waiting for a job. Waiting for guidance. Our list of waitings can go on and on. In these moments we often feel like God is silent. We wonder why God isn't responding to our cry for help. We pray for Him to hurry up and do things our way. His silence often leaves us feeling all alone and overwhelmed with discouragement. But, what would happen if we thanked God for the times we feel He is silent? What if His silence is the best thing for us in times of waiting? So often our busyness or our own desires keep us from hearing God clearly. When we feel like God is silent we can rest in knowing that He is teaching us to rest and depend on Him. It's like a father who teaches his child how to begin a puzzle and then he silently steps back to watch his child continue on with the puzzle. Do not confuse silence with absence. God will never leave your nor forsake you. Just because He's not doing what you thought He was going to do does not mean He has abandoned you. He is still working behind the scenes. He is still transforming your heart to be more like His. Do not let your waitings shut down your faith instead press in to the Father. Stand on His word. Remind Him of His promises. Thank Him for His silence. It's in these moments of silence that we experience the love of the Father on a whole new level. Our relationship with Him grows as we learn more about Him. When we learn how to operate in faith without hearing His voice all the time our roots grow deeper. We experience all of who He is and how to walk out being His child in all seasons of life. It's in these moments of silence that we're able to be still. It's through His silence that we have strength. It's through His silence that we have hope, because we know that He is transforming us for His glory. If you've been waiting for God to break His silence we pray that you would be able to change your mindset. Instead of becoming discouraged praise God for His silence. Thank Him for this season. Let your faith move mountains as your roots grow deeper this week.
