Abide in His love.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Have you ever struggled with questioning everything you do? Have you wondered if you've made the right decisions? Have you woke up in the middle of the night thinking you should have done something differently the day before? Have you gone through seasons wondering if you heard God correctly? These kinds of thoughts cause so much chaos, stress, and confusion in our lives. We try so hard to do things "right", to do things responsibly, and to do things the way we think others think we should do them. It leaves us with hearts full of anxiety just plain worn out. So how do we get out of this routine of constant wonder and fear of not doing life "right"? John 15 reminds us to abide in the Father's love. When we are focused on keeping God above all else in our lives, when we abide in Him, we can rest assured knowing that we will bear fruit. We so often forget that apart from Him we can't do anything. Yet, when we abide in His love and keep our eyes fixed on Him we can know that He is faithful to keep His promises. We don't have to constantly dwell on the decisions we make each day wondering if it's the "right" one. He will prune what needs to be cut off from our lives so that we have a chance to grow and bear fruit. If we make a poor decision He'll show us and help us fix it. When we dwell on our decisions we operate out of our own strength. When we abide in the Father's love and spend time in His word we will hear and know His voice. We don't have to doubt. We don't have to strive. We don't have worry. We can rest knowing that God is good. He will give us the wisdom and knowledge we need to make the right decisions each day. He is faithful and trustworthy. When we bear fruit we glorify Him. If you struggle wondering if you've heard God's voice or wondering if you made the right decisions lately stop and renew your mind. Jump in to John 15 and ask God what it means for you to abide in His love. Ask Him to prune the dead branches from your life so that you can grow and bear much fruit. Above all keep the Lord above all else in your life. Keep your eyes fixed on Him. As you listen to His voice this week have faith that the decisions you make will bear fruit! May all fear, anxiety, and worry be gone in Jesus name' as you abide in His love this week.
