Breakthrough Faith
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. Matthew 13:43
So many people are looking for breakthrough. Breakthrough in the natural and the supernatural. Breakthrough in relationships. Breakthrough in marriages. Breakthrough in finances. Breakthrough in work places. Breakthrough in our walk with the Lord. Yet, when it comes to walking by faith not by sight many of us retreat. We want breakthrough, but not in that way. We want things to change and advance without getting uncomfortable, without walking through the unknown, without letting go, and without life actually changing. We pray and pray and pray and then do absolutely nothing in the waiting. We run from change. We shut the door to all God wants to do in the waiting. We don't let it be a time of preparation. We don't worship through the waiting. We don't praise Him for the waiting. Yet, we expect the breakthrough to come to us gift wrapped with a big red bow on top and we expect life to go on as normal. But what if that's not how breakthrough works? What if it doesn't look like you think it looks? What if it's messy? What if it's way outside your comfort zone? What if it causes you to sacrifice something? Or possibly sacrifice everything? What kind of faith are you walking in? Are you walking in a breakthrough faith that brings heaven to earth? Or are you walking in a faith that will never cause your world to change? When I look around our life I see family after family that have said yes to Jesus and yes to walking in radical breakthrough faith. I see a family who has left it all behind to live on a boat to take stuff to missionaries. I see a family that has adopted as their own a very sick little boy from Africa so that he can live life abundantly . I see people going to the darkest parts of the world to share the love of Jesus with those who have never heard His name. I see family after family that are giving it all, that are walking by faith and not by sight, that have simply said, "Here I am. Send me." Does faith always look that radical? No. Maybe the Lord is calling you to spend more time with Him. Maybe He's telling you to have your neighbor over for dinner. I don't know what faith looks like in your life, but I do know that it's your obedience to walk by faith that causes mountains to move. The definition of breakthrough is a military movement or advance all the way through and beyond an enemy's front line of defense. Your faith is taking over the war that you are feeling. Your faith is causing breakthrough. It's causing your to cross over into enemy territory to take back what the enemy has stolen. Just like many of you, I have been praying for breakthrough in many areas of our life. And I know without any doubt that when we walk out our front door next week to never return to our "home", of the last four years, again that breakthrough will happen. Until then, I am going to do everything I possibly can to soak in the preparation and to worship while we wait, because the waiting is important! Your faith causes mountains to move not because of anything you can do, but because the Lord Almighty is faithful and He's molding you into His likeness. Don't settle for lukewarm faith this week. Stay steadfast. May your soul magnify the name of Jesus as you keep your eyes on the Father. Breakthrough is happening. The war has been won. May doubt flee as your faith increases to breakthrough this week in the name of Jesus!
