But what would it cause?

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

So often we walk into situations or opportunities and immediately look at the cost. Maybe it costs money, time, energy, or resources. Maybe it costs you to sacrifice something, to walk outside your comfort zone, or perhaps it costs you to change your lifestyle. We constantly focus on the cost. So often that mindset causes us to run from the Lord when He asks us to walk by faith. We get so focused on our limited resources that we walk away from the things the Lord is calling us to because it looks like it will cost too much. Are you looking to help a family in need this Christmas? Are you being called to adopt a child into your family? Has the Lord asked you to start a new business? Maybe you're suppose to volunteer with a local ministry? Only you know what the situation or opportunity in front of you is. What would happen if you changed your view and began to look at what it will cause instead of what it will cost? Will it cause people to see the Light conquer darkness? Will it cause hope and joy to spring forth? Will it cause love to cast out fear? Will it cause provision for those in need? Will it cause Jesus to be glorified? Almost everything the Lord calls us to do looks impossible. It's so easy to focus on what walking by faith will cost. Sometimes it can seem to cost everything. Yet what is causes always outweighs the cost. As you walk by faith focus on what your faith will cause instead of what it may cost. Lay down your expectations, yield your heart to the King of Kings, and watch as your obedience glorifies the Father. We pray that hope, joy, and love overwhelm your heart as your soul magnifies the Lord this week.
